I felt compelled to post this piece again for a third time as the UMC is fast approaching the 2016 General Conference.

I still have very dear friends and love ones in the UMC. Please hear and ponder the words of the Apostle Paul to the Ephesian Elders.

“So guard yourselves and God’s people. Feed and shepherd God’s flock—his church, purchased with his own blood over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as elders. I know that false teachers, like vicious wolves, will come in among you after I leave, not sparing the flock.  Even some men from your own group will rise up and distort the truth in order to draw a following.  Watch out! Remember the three years I was with you—my constant watch and care over you night and day, and my many tears for you. Acts 20:28-31

Pluralism – God will not tolerate it much longer!

Re-posted 1/31/2015 and 5/19/2015

History teaches – but we do not listen!

The IGRC United Methodist lay leader said to me – “it was standard acceptable practice for the UMC to hire secular consulting and marketing agents to lead and teach the church how to become more effective and vital in ministry.”

As I questioned her and expressed my strong disagreement!

The answer given to me was – and I quote her verbatim “We are plundering Egypt!!!”

I was in total amazement of the lack of basic Scriptural knowledge and understanding in the leadership.

The Israelite’s did not plunder Egypt!

The Egyptians were so terrified of the power of All Mighty God in defense of His people.

In the middle of the night – Pharaoh said; “Up! Leave my people, you and the Israelites! Go, worship the Lord as you have requested. Take your flocks and herds, as you have said, and go. And also bless me.” The Egyptians urged the people to hurry and leave the country. “For otherwise,” they said, “we will all die!” Exodus 12:31-33

The Scriptures provide the history of Israel’s deliverance and rebellion……deliverance and rebellion……

In 2 Kings chapter 17 we see:

The Israelites faced exile because of their determination to step over God’s explicit moral boundaries. Their choice for worship and life-style values demonstrated very poor judgment.

Our values and choices are shaped by whom and what we worship!

Our life message is far too important to waste it on idolatrous ways. We will be held accountable for the message we live, the things we teach, the things we tolerate, and the work we support.

All this took place because the Israelites had sinned against the Lord their God, who had brought them up out of Egypt from under the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

They worshiped other gods and followed the practices of the nations the Lord had driven out before them, as well as the practices that the kings of Israel had introduced.

The Israelites secretly did things against the Lord their God that were not right. From watchtower to fortified city they built themselves high places in all their towns.

They set up sacred stones and Asherah poles on every high hill and under every spreading tree.

At every high place they burned incense, as the nations whom the Lord had driven out before them had done. They did wicked things that provoked the Lord to anger.

They worshiped idols, though the Lord had said, “You shall not do this.”

The Lord warned Israel and Judah through all his prophets and seers: “Turn from your evil ways. Observe my commands and decrees, in accordance with the entire Law that I commanded your fathers to obey and that I delivered to you through my servants the prophets.”

But they would not listen and were as stiff-necked as their fathers, who did not trust in the Lord their God.

They rejected his decrees and the covenant he had made with their fathers and the warnings he had given them. They followed worthless idols and themselves became worthless. They imitated the nations around them although the Lord had ordered them, “Do not do as they do,” and they did the things the Lord had forbidden them to do.

They forsook all the commands of the Lord their God and made for themselves two idols cast in the shape of calves, and an Asherah pole. They bowed down to all the starry hosts, and they worshiped Baal.

They sacrificed their sons and daughters in the fire. They practiced divination and sorcery and sold themselves to do evil in the eyes of the Lord, provoking him to anger.

So the Lord was very angry with Israel and removed them from his presence. Only the tribe of Judah was left, and even Judah did not keep the commands of the Lord their God. They followed the practices Israel had introduced.

Therefore the Lord rejected all the people of Israel; he afflicted them and gave them into the hands of plunderers, until he thrust them from his presence.

When he tore Israel away from the house of David, they made Jeroboam son of Nebat their king. Jeroboam enticed Israel away from following the Lord and caused them to commit a great sin.

The Israelites persisted in all the sins of Jeroboam and did not turn away from them until the Lord removed them from his presence, as he had warned through all his servants the prophets.

2 Kings 17: 7-23

God in His great mercy has always sent warning after warning and allowed time for His people to repent and abandon the worship of other gods (pluralism) before exercising His righteous judgment.

They set up sacred stones and Asherah poles on every high hill and under every spreading tree.

At every high place they burned incense, as the nations whom the Lord had driven out before them had done. They did wicked things that provoked the Lord to anger. ( verses 10-11)

“Where is the philosopher? Where is the scholar? Where is the debater of the age? Hasn’t God made the world’s wisdom foolish?”  Paul The Apostle

Just take a walk through a news stand or turn on the evening news.

Beheadings, a murdered judge, child porn, homemade meth, teen pregnancy, 40 years of killing our young in the womb, school shootings, gay marriage, depression, husbands killing their wives, wives killing husbands, children killing parents, divorce, sodomy, rape, child molestation, bestiality, a “no rules” restaurant, bloodiest of all centuries………….and on and on….

Where is wisdom?

The real war raging in the world is a culture war!  Government schools and (many private) from Pre-K rooms to Senior Care and every institution in between – the war is raging for the minds of  the children and adults alike.

The school classrooms and in the Sunday School rooms of many churches ramming  garbage down the throats of children and adults daily.

We see the fruit of this world’s wisdom all around us.

Secular Humanism, Marxism-Leninism, Cosmic Humanism ( New Age), Post-Modernism,….. just to name a few.

Let’s take a closer look  in just  three areas.

Ethics,  Sociology, and History.

Secular Humanism: Ethics : (Moral Relativism) The belief that no absolute moral code exist and therefore man determines what is right in each situation according to his private judgement.  Sociology:  Non- traditional family, Church, State. History:  Historical Evolution.

Marxism-Leninism: Ethics: ( Proletariat Morality) the Marxist ethical belief that whatever advances the Proletariat and the cause of Communism is morally good and whatever hinders Proletariat or Communism is morally evil. Sociology: Classless Society. History: Historical Materialism.

Cosmic Humanism ( New Age)  Ethics: (Moral Relativism) ie Karma. Sociology: Non-traditional family, Church, State. History: Evolutionary Godhood (Intelligent Design).

Post-Modernism: Ethics: (Cultural Relativism) The belief that truth and morals are relative to (or defined by) one’s culture. Sociology: Sexual Egalitarianism – The belief that all sexual practices — which are based on preference and sexual identity (or polymorphous   History: Historicism – The belief that past beliefs, morals, and truths should only be understood in relation to the cultural/historical periods in which they arose, not according to any eternal standard of morality and truth.

Is it any wonder why many young people today have NO HOPE?

C.S. Lewis said:  That Christians “are tempted to make unnecessary concessions to those outside the Faith.” We give in too much, he says. “We must show our Christian colours, if we are to be true to Jesus Christ. We can’t remain silent and concede everything away.” ( C.S. Lewis , God in the Dock)

Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 10:5-8

We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,  being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete. Look at what is before your eyes. If anyone is confident that he is Christ’s, let him remind himself that just as he is Christ’s, so also are we. For even if I boast a little too much of our authority, which the Lord gave for building you up and not for destroying you, I will not be ashamed.

Our hope is found in the person of Jesus Christ and His blood shed on the cross for our sins. We are a fallen creation and Jesus is the Redemption and the only answer to our fallen world. His Word is absolute TRUTH!

Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?  For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe.  For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.  1 Cor. 1:20-25

*Note to parents: It is way past time to find out what your children are being taught in school, at youth group and in Sunday School. It is not just the State teaching them falsely –  it is the Church in some cases!

IT’S A BIG DEAL! READ THIS ARTICLE FROM THE AMERICAN CENTER OF LAW AND JUSTICE THEN SIGN THE PETITION ASKING CONGRESS TO TAKE SWIFT ACTION TO STOP THIS!

ROBIN

So, the U.N. Wants Control of the Internet. What’s the Big Deal?

http://aclj.org/free-speech-2/so-un-wants-control-of-the-internet-whats-big-deal

This morning the ACLJ launched a fast-growing petition (23,000 signatures in the first six hours) protesting the Obama Administration’s decision to hand over critical technical functions of the Internet to a “multinational body.” We’re calling on the President to reverse course or – failing that – Congress to take action to keep the Internet free.

In plain English, what does this all mean?  Here’s Gordon Crovitz, writing in the Wall Street Journal:

The Internet is often described as a miracle of self-regulation, which is almost true. The exception is that the United States government has had ultimate control from the beginning. Washington has used this oversight only to ensure that the Internet runs efficiently and openly, without political pressure from any country.

This was the happy state of affairs until last Friday, when the Obama administration made the surprise announcement it will relinquish its oversight of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, or Icann, which assigns and maintains domain names and Web addresses for the Internet. Russia, China and other authoritarian governments have already been working to redesign the Internet more to their liking, and now they will no doubt leap to fill the power vacuum caused by America’s unilateral retreat.

How so? What will it matter if the United States cedes its role to the “international community,” which includes Russia, China, and the U.N.? Here’s Mr. Crovitz again:

In the past few years, Russia and China have used a U.N. agency called the International Telecommunication Union to challenge the open Internet. They have lobbied for the ITU to replace Washington as the Icann overseer. They want the ITU to outlaw anonymity on the Web (to make identifying dissidents easier) and to add a fee charged to providers when people gain access to the Web “internationally”—in effect, a tax on U.S.-based sites such as Google  and Facebook. The unspoken aim is to discourage global Internet companies from giving everyone equal access.

. . .

The ITU is now a lead candidate to replace the U.S. in overseeing Icann. The Commerce Department says it doesn’t want to transfer responsibility to the ITU or other governments, but has suggested no alternative. Icann’s CEO, Mr. Chehadé, told reporters after the Obama administration’s announcement that U.S. officials are “not saying that they’d exclude governments—governments are welcome, all governments are welcome.”

Ms. Dyson calls U.N. oversight a “fate worse than death” for the Internet.

So, here’s the key question: How does the Obama Administration retreating from the Internet serve the liberty interests of American citizens? It’s clear that Americans are well-served by the present system, and people across the world have found the Internet to be a place that even the most authoritarian governments have trouble regulating (they may have a high degree of control within their borders, but they have very little control outside).

We’ve often described the Obama Administration’s philosophy toward American power as one of “managed decline.” In many respects, he simply appeases America’s international critics.

But the Internet is no place for decline or appeasement. Too much is at stake. Join our petition and help keep the Internet free.

There were keepers of the temple gates and keepers of the city gates. Nothing has changed! God still appoints gatekeepers and watchmen today!!

They are able to refuse or admit entrance to anyone. They are in place for the protection of the temple or the city. The Bible mentions gates quite often. Matthew 7:13-14 says “…wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction… straight is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads to life…” In Matthew 16:18, Jesus tells us that the gates of hell shall not prevail against His Church. Psalm 100:4 says “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise…” So we see that heaven has gates and hell has gates.

Gates and wall are built for protection. When one was said to possess the gate of his enemy, it meant that the person had gained a position of authority or power over the enemy. When the gates and the walls are torn down or broken down, it gave access for the enemy to come in.

The watchmen have been blowing the horn until their heads are spinning. The problem lays with the gate keepers, they are either asleep, bind or dead. The doors have been left unattended.

This nation is paying a very high price for our lack of concern for what we allow in the gates of our schools, churches, homes and minds.

False teachers and false teachings! We have become focused on pleasing the people for the sake of “peace”, money, recognition, and a whole list of other things!

So is it any wonder WHY we suffer loss?!!!!

Wake up gatekeepers!!!!!

I received an email today from Truth In Action Ministries entitled :Same-Sex Weddings and Witchcraft on the Grammys. While I did not watch the Grammys – I know the scene. I remember posting from Tampa Florida during the United Methodist General Conference in 2012. The worship services filled with false worship, witch doctors, seducing spirits, and songs about reversing the roles. The legislative hall and prayer room riddled with alters built to men, labyrinth mazes, candles, and spirit guides…So bold to hang a dream catcher from the cross! That was on center stage where the Bishops were seated. This is not just taking place on the stage at the Grammy’s or in Hollywood – it is taking place in the church! Please wake up people seated in the pew – get your head out of the sand – ask God to show you the Truth.  Below is a copy of the letter from Truth In Action. ~Robin

Dear Robin,

As you may have seen, this past Sunday night’s Grammy Awards program, televised nationally on CBS, featured a mass wedding ceremony that included numerous same-sex couples, officiated by actress/singer Queen Latifah, and solemnized by the singing of Madonna.

In fact, much of what we saw Sunday night was a counterfeit worship service, though it was clearly not the true God who was being worshipped. Since the entertainment industry has devoted much of its efforts in recent decades to increasingly inane (and in this case exploitative, as the entertainers used the wedding couples as pawns for their own publicity stunt) attempts to be “transgressive,” we shouldn’t really be surprised.

And, of course, this is yet another demonstration of what the Apostle Paul himself described in Romans 1: “Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever!” (Romans 1:24-25, ESV). Counterfeit worship is a direct result of rejecting God, and Sunday night’s “service” featured everything from a choir to mock-stained-glass windows.

One of the interesting aspects of this year’s Grammy telecast (which also included former Christian contemporary musician Katy Perry, who performed as a literal witch emerging from a crystal ball and casting spells) is that such a thing can be televised nationwide and raise little more than a collective yawn.

The late Dr. D. James Kennedy, founder of Truth in Action Ministries, once said of Hollywood, “It continually desensitizes us until we come to accept things that at one time we would never accept at all.”

In our desensitized culture where idolatry is commonplace (and Paul makes it clear that among other things, homosexuality is a form of idolatry) it’s never been more important for Christians to pursue holiness. And in the face of such a “worship service,” it is harder and harder to justify our appetite for popular culture.

Culture is a reflection of our own particular choices. Sunday evening’s telecast once again broadcast to the world every sign of a culture under the judgment of God. Let us pray for repentance and for the furtherance of the life-giving gospel that frees us from sin and idolatry and enables us to worship the True God!

Sincerely,

My son is now 18 and headed off to college in the fall. I’m so thankful that he has a relationship with Christ….However, I am not one of those mom’s with my head in the sand who will not see. Or one who chooses to see my children – as little angels..halo and all. Lets be real! College life is full of hard-core temptation…shoot high school is too! The awesome thing is – as parents who bring up their children under the Truth of God’s Word we can trust His Word… For I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that Day.  2 Timothy 1:12 Amen!

I ran across this old post the other day.

Thoughts from a sixteen year old.

Originally posted: February 2, 2012

Greetings and salutations forum! Hello, my name is Denton I am a sixteen-year-old sophomore in high school. I was asked to “guest blog” so here I am. A few days ago I took my first semester Western Civilization final exam. At the school I attend the Western Civ. exam lives in infamy, because it is very long and very difficult. One essay I had to write was concerned with the millennium. I was asked to expand on England’s feelings of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ during the approach to the millennium.

In the years prior to the millennium, year 1000, there was a rather notable amount of unease about whether the Christ would return in that year. The essay specified that my professor wanted to know England’s feelings and thoughts, but during this time in history there was a significant shift of power to England’s hands; so England’s thoughts at this time was the majority of the worlds thoughts. Life was good for the for the English they had experienced the Northumbrian Renaissance due to Bede’s works in c. 700 AD and they were just coming out of the Anglo-Saxon Renaissance with King Alfred the Great of Wessex in the late 800’s. Again, life was going good, so when the Church spoke of the end it brought some unease. Like nails scraping down a chalkboard, the people just did not want to hear of the end. I think I know of the majority of the people in England felt.

When I was about ten or twelve years of age I dreaded the coming of Christ, I can remember hearing my mother talking about how evil the world was, and how Jesus would be coming back soon and chills would go up my spine. I would become so anxious that at peak times I could not sleep. Life was going good for me. I was twelve without a care in the world. But now, I am sixteen going on seventeen, I have grown older and wiser. Thinking back on the occasion I am taken to Mark 8:35-36, “For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?”

I have enough discernment myself to see that we, as the majority, just like England in the 890’s never grew up. We still fear His Second Coming. Life is going good for many. We are just coming out of a recession, we have Bin Laden taken care of, life is good right?

Take heed of Mark eight. Let us, I am included in this as well, not to fall in love with our lives. Now am I encouraging you to lead a monastic life where one deprives one’s self of modern resources? No, far from it. Live life, be happy. Look at the life of Christ, He led a happy life. He healed the sick and brought joy to multitudes, He taught of the grace and love of His father, and he made friends who he trusted to spread His news. Christ never intended for life to bring us down; however, He does not want you and me to put the joys  life brings- kids, husbands, wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, technology, sports- to replace Him.

What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?

There is only ONE place that our soul can rest.

In Christ!

Denton
