Ever had tough questions and made it your quest to seek out the answers?
Habakkuk 1:1-3:19
Although Habakkuk questioned God, he never walked away. He waited to hear what God had to say. He was not disappointed because God spoke! And Habakkuk learned some wonderful lessons, received a commission, and wrote it all down for us in a book!
God is ready to speak to us! Do we take time to get alone with Him , and remain silent so that we can hear His voice.
I think that many of our problems overwhelm us simply because we do not set aside time to be alone with the Master. How do we expect to live life as more than conquerors, apart from a quiet time alone with God.
There are so many voices clamoring for our attention. So many philosophies and ideologies thrown at us and especially the children through the public education system, numerous books. Every form of media invading the homes day and night throughout our nation.
If we would just turn it all off and get alone with our creator. we could hear the small still voice of God.
(1Kings 19:12…. and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.
God is no respecter of persons! “God is not one to show partiality” (Acts 10:34)
He will meet with us as He met with Habakkuk, If we will get alone and wait to hear what He will say!
After Habakkuk spilled out the questions of his heart, he did a very wise thing. He stood on his guard post, stationing himself on the rampart, and waited to see what God would say to him. (see verse 2:1)
It was then, in the silence, in the expectant waiting, that God spoke!
To Habakkuk, God gave the key, the key of all life, the key to the whole Word of God: The righteous, the just, will live by faith.
Habakkuk 2:4 is a key verse to the entire Bible:
““Behold the proud,
His soul is not upright in him;
But the just shall live by his faith.
What does the Word of God mean when it speaks of faith?
Faith is simply taking God at His Word. It is believing God. It is believing all that He says whether we understand it or not, whether we can explain it or not.
It is taking God at His Word, no matter how we feel, no matter how we read the circumstances, no matter what anyone else says about the truthfulness of what God says.
God is truthful!
The Bible is God’s Word to man. It is God breathed and God has preserved it from throughout all of time.. From Moses, writing under God’s Spirit to the time when the apostle John wrote down the revelation of the things which were, are, and are yet to come.
Get alone with Jesus today! Seek His written Word, seek His wisdom and revelation.
And yes ask Him hard questions!
He will speak to you and show you everything you need to know!
Peace be with you.
