My son is now 18 and headed off to college in the fall. I’m so thankful that he has a relationship with Christ….However, I am not one of those mom’s with my head in the sand who will not see. Or one who chooses to see my children – as little angels..halo and all. Lets be real! College life is full of hard-core temptation…shoot high school is too! The awesome thing is – as parents who bring up their children under the Truth of God’s Word we can trust His Word… For I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that Day.  2 Timothy 1:12 Amen!

I ran across this old post the other day.

Thoughts from a sixteen year old.

Originally posted: February 2, 2012

Greetings and salutations forum! Hello, my name is Denton I am a sixteen-year-old sophomore in high school. I was asked to “guest blog” so here I am. A few days ago I took my first semester Western Civilization final exam. At the school I attend the Western Civ. exam lives in infamy, because it is very long and very difficult. One essay I had to write was concerned with the millennium. I was asked to expand on England’s feelings of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ during the approach to the millennium.

In the years prior to the millennium, year 1000, there was a rather notable amount of unease about whether the Christ would return in that year. The essay specified that my professor wanted to know England’s feelings and thoughts, but during this time in history there was a significant shift of power to England’s hands; so England’s thoughts at this time was the majority of the worlds thoughts. Life was good for the for the English they had experienced the Northumbrian Renaissance due to Bede’s works in c. 700 AD and they were just coming out of the Anglo-Saxon Renaissance with King Alfred the Great of Wessex in the late 800’s. Again, life was going good, so when the Church spoke of the end it brought some unease. Like nails scraping down a chalkboard, the people just did not want to hear of the end. I think I know of the majority of the people in England felt.

When I was about ten or twelve years of age I dreaded the coming of Christ, I can remember hearing my mother talking about how evil the world was, and how Jesus would be coming back soon and chills would go up my spine. I would become so anxious that at peak times I could not sleep. Life was going good for me. I was twelve without a care in the world. But now, I am sixteen going on seventeen, I have grown older and wiser. Thinking back on the occasion I am taken to Mark 8:35-36, “For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?”

I have enough discernment myself to see that we, as the majority, just like England in the 890’s never grew up. We still fear His Second Coming. Life is going good for many. We are just coming out of a recession, we have Bin Laden taken care of, life is good right?

Take heed of Mark eight. Let us, I am included in this as well, not to fall in love with our lives. Now am I encouraging you to lead a monastic life where one deprives one’s self of modern resources? No, far from it. Live life, be happy. Look at the life of Christ, He led a happy life. He healed the sick and brought joy to multitudes, He taught of the grace and love of His father, and he made friends who he trusted to spread His news. Christ never intended for life to bring us down; however, He does not want you and me to put the joys  life brings- kids, husbands, wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, technology, sports- to replace Him.

What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?

There is only ONE place that our soul can rest.

In Christ!

Antinomianism

Antinomianism (a term coined by Martin Luther, from the Greek [ Against + Law ] is defined as holding that under the gospel dispensation of grace, moral law is of no use or obligation because faith alone is necessary to salvation.

Calvin, Luther, and Wesley called it heresy.

In Paul of Tarsus day the Biblical Greek terms anomia or anomos which are generally translated ” lawlessness” and ” lawless”.

This dangerous heresy is still alive and operating  in the church today. We give this demon new names such as religious toleration, post modernism, political correctness, sensitivity, and compromise.

Our children are inundated with antinomianism all day every day by the media,  the music, television, magazines, clothing, at school, and at church.

I remember when my youngest child was in the first grade and he wanted to wear shirts with “funny”  phrases on them – from the children clothing brand – No Rules. The so-called  ”funny” phrases boldly and unashamed undermine the authority of parents, teachers, pastors, government officials, policemen, and every authority to which God has placed over children to teach them and keep them safe. They actually belittled and poked fun at all authority, which we know belongs to God.

I was ridiculed  with eye rolls and told by other mom’s that it was no big deal! It was a big deal then and it’s even a bigger deal now!

Sadly, I know several of those mother’s that are now seeing the fruit of planting the seed of  NO RULES in their children. It is truly heartbreaking to see the harmful effects of  lawlessness.

As the church we are called to intercede for this generation. It is our responsibility to speak life and truth – to teach the children that a life with No Rules will lead them down a dangerous path ending  in death.

The marvelous news is Our Heavenly Father loves every person past, present and future so much He offered up His only begotten son that we may know forgiveness, true lasting peace and joy that glorifies and honors Him.

By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples

“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.  If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I

have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.

John 15:8-11

Our Heavenly Father loves us so very much that He offered up His Son on the cross. Jesus paid a very high price that we may be forgiven.

We must not forget foundational principles in God’s Word.  Genesis 4

On June 15, 2012 I warned that the Southern Illinois University Wesley Foundation Campus Ministry was headed toward becoming an interfaith community. It was very obvious! When the Illinois Great Rivers Annual Conference voted to change its constitution and line through the entire mission statement – it was very plain to see what is next………………. Read this from the IRD.

From: The Institute On Religion & Democracy Blog

By: Mark Tooley Posted August 22, 2013

Former National Council of Churches chief Joan Brown Campbell, in her sermon at Chautauqua today, urged that Christians reject the “exclusivity” of their own faith. And in today’s published interview with the Chautauqua, NY newspaper, Campbell reiterated Christians should not aspire to win other people to Christianity.

Campbell is retiring after 14 years as director of religious life at the famed, originally Christian retreat center, which she celebrated has become more interfaith under her direction. Chautauqua originally began as a Sunday school training camp for Methodists.

“Most compassionate congregations in the world are Muslim,” Campbell said, touting the interfaith “Charter of Compassion” organized by British religion historian and syncretist Karen Armstrong. Campbell urged: “We are called to a compassionate Christianity,” that embodies “Jesus’ dangerous dream” that “we all might be one.”

Campbell was citing the Gospel of John 17:21, which says: “That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.”

In Campbell’s reinterpretation, this scripture is not Christ’s call for the church’s unity under His Lordship but for global unity because it “relates to all of humankind.” She urged a “Jesus not owned by Christians but Who cares for all. An embracing  Jesus.”

According to Campbell, “Jesus says there will be one flock… No one is in or out in the world of Jesus.” She heralded this “challenge to Christian exclusivity” and insisted of humanity, “We are one. We hold all people as precious.”

Campbell insisted this “call to inclusive Christianity” is not a “call to discard the faith of our ancestors.” Instead, “You will reach out and embrace all of God’s own.” Quoting Desmond Tutu, she rhetorically asked, “Who will be excluded?” She explained: “Because we are Christian…we embrace the one.”

“God cannot be contained in our own religion,” Campbell said. “It’s not easy. We as Chautauquans have said we want to be a compassionate interfaith community.” She approvingly noted that Karen Armstrong is “calling us to a radical new understanding of who we are as Christians, to give up our exclusivity.”

But Campbell insisted: “We don’t have to give up the strength of Christianity.” Instead, “We will need to be the best Christians we’ve ever been. The world belongs to one God of history.”

In her Chautauqua Campbell explained that her 14 years at Chautauqua “have changed me.” She said:

To say that the 2 p.m. lecture is now interfaith and to understand what that means has had the most influence on my faith journey. I think it is the responsibility of a Christian not to take his or her faith and say, “This is for everyone,” but to honor the faith of others, to believe that their faith means as much to them as mine does to me.

This is hard for Christians, because we remember the call to go into all the world and make Christians of everyone. We can no more do that today than we can fly to the moon. We have come to believe that we are not responsible for converting the world, but to be fully and completely Christian.

Campbell celebrated:

I am very proud of Chautauqua. It is in the board minutes that we will spend the next 10, 15, 20 years learning to be interfaith; not just Christians, Jews and Muslims, but open to all faiths.

The way the Wesley Foundation will do ministry has officially changed  – ALL the rules will change.

This is paramount!

The big liberal snowball is rolling faster down the hill and is gaining much ground.

The liberal  leadership within the UMC  is jumping for joy – they see this as a big win.

Sadly, they continue to provoke the heavy hand of God upon the church.

But even worse – they now have the permission from the majorities  to lead young people in the wrong direction.

Not the way of repentance and freedom through Jesus Christ and Him alone.

The Wesley Foundation will now become an interfaith organization and teach pluralism. Which accepts the idea that there are many paths to God.

I  encourage you to test the spirits as instructed in (1 John 4 ). This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehoods.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

1 John 4:1-3

Can you hear me now?

I originally wrote the post (Governed by feelings – very dangerous!) in March 2012……see post below… I took a fax from the county Health Dept. to the UMC General Conference Delegation meetings. God allowed the opportunity for me to share the information with several delegates in small group sittings. With glazed over eyes they all read it and sighed…..”this is sad”.

Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 2 Timothy 3:7

Illinois just passed HB 2675 — the “comprehensive” sex education bill now moves to Governor Patrick Quinn’s desk.

Children are dying on our watch!

Governed By Feelings – Very Dangerous!

March 9, 2012 by mrskbw

For more than a generation, children have been encouraged to express their feelings rather than taught to control them. They have been told that all feelings are valid, which is not true. The end result of this false teaching about feelings is our youth who believe their feelings trump TRUTH. Oh, they are full of self-esteem but have little or no respect for themselves or for authority.

We have listened to the voices of best-selling parenting books. That say, children do not need to be told what to do and that “children who submit to their  parents’ authority will be the adults who fill the psychologist and psychiatrist offices” says, psychologist Thomas Gordon author of Parent Effectiveness Training from the 1970’s.

Really! Well, I disagree!

We know of course that this is not true! Gordon and other progressive parenting pushers are pulling this garbage out of thin air.

Ephesians 6:1-3 says, Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— “that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”

God’s word is perfect and lays down the perfect plan for the family.Gods plan will produce healthy and emotionally stable generations.

The mental health crises in American children is not going away! There is a vast increase in depression and suicide among children today. The current epidemic of “cutting” among teenagers is a prime example of feelings and emotions run amok. One of Satan’s oldest tricks!

In 2012 Southern Illinois Jr.high and high schools received a fax from the local County Health Departments warning the lower 19 counties in Illinois of the significant increase in the number of newly diagnosed HIV/AIDS cases.

And I quote from the letter verbatim, ” Interestingly, more than half of the new cases are young people who have graduated from a So. Ill. high school in the past five years. Clients are presenting from various risk groups, including men who have sex with both men and women, their partners and injection drug users. Many of these clients don’t identify as being gay or bisexual or injection drug users, but are engaging in behaviors that have put them at significant risk.”

The letter goes on to report the rapid increase in the number of diagnosed cases of STD’s as a priority health problem among our youth.

Church – Jesus commissioned us to teach the TRUTH and to bear witness to the way that leads to life. We will be held responsible for what we teach this generation.

We should not be teaching our children that they are to act upon every feeling that runs across their minds. We must teach them NOT to allow their feelings and emotions to govern their decisions. But, to test all things by the Word of God.

God’s plan for our children is to prosper them and to not harm them to give them a hope and a future.

Contrary to that of the world which is sponsored by Satan, to kill, steal and destroy.

Speak up Christian men and women and say NO to the perverting of God’s Word!  Young  people are dying before their time!

Illinois law makers are about to make one the most critical decisions of their lives and it will affect the lives of every person in our state – reverberating throughout our nation and the world.

Illinois is set and in position to become the 10th state in the nation to bless and legalize same-sex marriage.

“With just one more step in the legislative process, the homosexual lobby is pushing extremely hard to get the 60 votes they need to send it to the governor, who has already promised to sign it. While they do not yet have the votes, they are working tirelessly to make Illinois the 10th state in the nation to officially recognize same-sex “marriage.” In an out effort to get the votes they need, Lt. Gov. Shelia Simon and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel are doing everything they can to generate a grass-roots response from their base. Last week, high-profile lobbyists from Washington D.C. were there trying to convince key lawmakers in the black caucus.” End of quote by David Smith (IFI News Alert.)

Recently, I traveled to Springfield to visit the Capital and join thousands of other Illinoisans to speak with leaders and stand on the Capital steps to pray for our state.

I like many others have sent emails, letters and petitions to our leaders pleading with them to consider the consequences of their actions and  their responsibility to preserve natural order for the generations.

Today, I received a letter in response to an email which I sent to Lt. Governor Sheila Simon. I also sent the same email to every other state office in Illinois.  Lt Governor Simon writes that she supports same-sex marriage and feels that the law of the land needs to change! She tells an emotional story about a couple of her friends who have been in a same-sex relationship for 27 years and how they are deprived of equal rights. She says, and I quote;

” I know that if my husband has a medical emergency, the hospital will ask me to make decisions. Our friends can’t count on that, and that is just one example of many on why our laws need to change.” End of quote.

Notice she says laws ( plural) they have many plans and they fully understand that by redefining marriage – everything changes!

Well, Mrs. Simon respectfully, the first question I have for you as a ” lawyer.”

Is this the best argument you have to support this position?

Fact : I was not married to my grandmother or my father-in-law when I had to make critical life decisions for them.

Fact: My loved ones placed trust in our relationship and my ability to make a decision for them the event that they were unable to make for their-self. They signed a simple little legal document called a  power of attorney.

It is very simple! The law is in place and it fully covers this weak and bogus argument.

No, the  agenda is so much bigger than allowing  friends the right to be deemed legally married in Illinois.

As a matter of fact Mrs. Simon sums up her letter by exposing the real reason behind her emotional driven non-scenes.

Religious freedom!

She like President Obama and the many liberal politicians in office today claim that they “support” the freedom of religion and all the while they work for the freedom from religion. AKA  the kingdom of darkness all dressed up with feel good emotions – disguised as concern for neighbor.

Wake up Illinois. Wake up America. Wake up Church!

How much longer will we allow emotions to blind us from looking at the plain simple Facts!

The American church is very hard at work here as well as in Africa and around the world to change the gospel message to match their social justice message. As a delegate to the 2012 United Methodist General Conference in Tampa in May, I was an eye – witness to the manipulation and intimidation tactics of the American delegates, council of bishops, and the judicial council. Their goal was to shut down the African delegates and silence them!
I saw first hand as one Nigerian delegate stood at the microphone on the conference floor pleading with the presiding bishop – not to allow the distorting and twisting of the Holy Scriptures. The delegate from Nigeria appealed to the bishop saying; ” Bishop you came to us with the Gospel message and now you are asking me to go back and tell the people who I have evangelized – that the gospel message has changed!”- ” That we do not have to repent of sin!”
That is exactly what the Council of Bishops and the new age theological church in America is doing!
But wait a minute what about the so-called Evangelicals in the church. What are they up to? I will show you!
This is taken directly from a letter I recently received from the Evangelical’s of the UMC.
” I know for some of you it’s not easy to stay in your churches where the Gospel isn’t preached. Others of you are in an Annual Conference where your bishop isn’t faithful to the orthodox faith and the leadership provided there is often contrary to what you believe. And some of you have seen many of your friends leave your church and go to a different denomination or a Bible Church. I know these things because you tell me so in the letters you write.”
Wow! They fully understand that the Gospel is not being preached and that the highest levels of leadership in the church has abandon orthodox teaching, and they have letter writing campaigns to persuade people to stay and sit under it!
They need to read Paul’s letters to the early church when they were faced with false teachers. This is serious business!
To shine a little more light on the spreading of this deadly liberal agenda please read this recent blog post by blogger – True Discernment.
Our Criminal Evangelical Silence
We all know that the dark ages are upon us again here in Africa. It is almost like a dark blanket that is slowly surrounding the land. People who know absolutely nothing of the core values of evangelical Christianity—the new birth, repentance and saving faith, justification and holiness, etc.—have hijacked evangelical Christianity in Africa. Even the term “born again” is being peddled without an iota of the meaning that Jesus had in mind when he used the phrase in his talk with Nicodemus. These are dark days indeed.
Once upon a time in Zambia, in the 1970s and early 1980s, you could go to very much any English-speaking evangelical church on Sunday and expect to attend a Bible study and hear faithful preaching of God’s word. You may have been a little uncomfortable with some aspects of their worship. You may have also disagreed with some doctrinal assumptions during the preaching. However, you could not miss the fact that here was a sincere effort at arriving at the meaning of the text of Scripture and applying it to the hearers—both in the Bible studies and the sermons. You also heard an appeal for repentance towards God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. They may not have dotted your “i”s and crossed your “t”s as you do, but you still went home edified.
That is now very rare. In most so-called evangelical churches in Zambia today, there are no Bible studies and you cannot last to the end of their worship service if what you went for was spiritual edification. How many of our people are being drawn to churches primarily because they have been falsely promised to be cured of AIDS, get promotion at work, get more money, etc.? How many of our people are giving stashes of cash to so-called servants of God who are in fact nothing more than religious fraudsters? How many of our people now think that worship is dancing to very loud music that competes favourably with the rhumba maestros of the Congo? How many of our preachers think that preaching is shouting nice sounding platitudes through a microphone at the top of their voice with an American or Nigerian accent? This is what church has become.
I liken this delusion to the days prior to the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century. People flooded the churches but it was all for the wrong reasons. They were deceived and spellbound by a priest craft that claimed abilities they did not have but which the people craved after. Superstition reigned supreme in the church. The people were poor but they were promised various blessings if they could only give their remaining money to the church. Out of these funds majestic church edifices were built and the church’s top leadership lived like kings and princes. Is this not what is happening in the name of evangelical Christianity today? Or am I the only one who is seeing these things?
The result of all this is that we have “Protestant” churches on literally every street but the evangelical faith is totally absent. In fact these churches have become dens of iniquity. Church pastors are impregnating young girls in their churches, getting them to abort, agreeing with their parents not to spill the beans for some undisclosed huge amounts of hush-money, and their spouses and church leaders know about all this. As the pulpit has gone, so has gone the pew. Hardly anyone is thirsting and hungering after righteousness. Immoral living is rife. Church discipline is rare. Those who know about this rottenness are looking at the church from outside and pinching their nostrils in disgust. We have the numbers alright but the salt has lost its saltiness—and we know it.
Come on; let us be honest. We all know that the so-called prosperity gospel, which is in vogue in evangelicalism today, is heresy. We all know that the only guys becoming stinking rich are the preachers to whom the blind followers are giving their money. The followers themselves are still in abject poverty. It is nothing but religious fraud. We also all know that 99% of the claims to physical healing by our faith healers are false. We all have relatives who would be alive today if they had not been told they were cured and so should not take medication for their sickness. These men are murderers. This is not Conrad Mbewe being malicious and making up stories. These are all well-known facts.
The tragedy is not that all this is happening. The disaster is the silence about all this from those who are supposed to provide spiritual guidance to the masses. In Zambia, and in Africa at large, evangelical leaders who have worked their way up the ecclesiastical ladder are holding hands with religious fraudsters and thus they cannot speak about this engulfing evil. They would rather throw stones at political leaders out there than address the Trojan horse within evangelicalism. They would rather tell the world to stop being worldly than tell those who are raping the church from within to stop it. And yet in the light of this spiritual tsunami, the silence is criminal.
The problem with this current silence is that the younger generation who are coming into evangelical circles now think that what they are seeing is a viable and alternative form of evangelical Christianity when it is not. They have no clue that only recently believers got together in church for serious Bible study, that worship had dignity and awe, and that sermons were Bible-based, Christ-centred, and aimed at spiritual conversion. Due to our silence, our upcoming preachers are seeing filling your church membership roll with goats rather than sheep and driving expensive cars at the expense of poor parishioners as the sign of pastoral success. They have no clue that it was only recently when pastors stood out in society for their true godly servanthood. Today’s evangelical leaders are misleading a whole generation of innocent souls by their silence.
In the days of the prophet Malachi, religion in Israel had reached its lowest ebb. The Temple was still full of activity—with all kinds of sacrifices being offered at the altar. Yet, the true worship of God was dying. Those who came to the place of worship were defrauding God and the priests were allowing this. Men were unfaithful to their wives and divorcing at will, and the priests kept quiet about it. God finally put the blame where it ought to have been—at the feet of the priests. He said, “The lips of a priest should guard knowledge, and people should seek instruction from his mouth, for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts. But you have turned aside from the way” (Malachi 2:7-8). God finally wanted them to just shut the Temple doors and send everyone away! Their silence misrepresented him. They did not care that his greatness was obscured.
Once upon a time, a generation of God’s people saw spiritual decay and said, “Enough is enough!” and out of this protest was born the Protestant Reformation. In yet another generation, when liberalism had invaded the Protestant church and was killing its very life, a generation of God’s people again said, “Enough is enough!” and out of that protest was born the Evangelical movement of the 18th century. In the light of the darkness that is once again upon us, with churches becoming no more than witchdoctors’ dens, is it not time for today’s evangelicals to say, “Enough is enough”? How can we be silent in the light of this engulfing darkness? Surely, our evangelical silence must be criminal.

When my son was in kindergarten he attended the public school in the small town where we live. On September 11, 2001 we were headed to the apple orchard for a field trip. As we loaded on the bus my phone rang. It was my husband telling me to keep my phone on hand and to drive separate to the orchard, so that I could leave if necessary. “I think America is being attacked!”

I bet you remember what you were doing on the morning of September 11, 2001 as well.

Eleven years later the world is in deep turmoil and uncertainty as the nations hold in abeyance 15,000 deliverable nuclear weapons, we need to sound the trumpet of truth.

I recently received a news letter from The Southwest Radio Ministry sounding the alarm that – President Obama has appointed two Muslims to high positions in Homeland Security.

Lots of alarms are sounding throughout our land! I receive three times more mail and emails than I did a year ago from politicians, public advocates, judges, authors, pastors, churches, and countless ministries. All sounding the alarm, stating fact, and pleading with the American people to pray, pray, pray, and fast for our nation and our world.

I agree! However it is impossible to read everything that is sent.

Psalms 34:1-22 is the best read!

Salvation, as deliverance!  God delivers us from our fears, foes, and troubles. His deliverance extends to those who fear Him and to the righteous. God uses even His heavenly messengers to protect and deliver His people.

(verse 7) The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him,
and he delivers them.

Such confessions of deliverance represent the experience and testimonies of God’s people. They do not form a law which means God’s people will never suffer. If that were true, deliverance would not be necessary.

Psalm 34 praises God because of the relationship with Him. He delivers, not merely from things feared but from fear itself, removing shame.

Proclaiming God’s power to save the poor, the brokenhearted, and those who cry out to Him. God’s salvation reaches out to include those whom the world would exclude. God wants to include all who will come to Him.

He protects and provides. Above all, He is attentive and answers the prayers of His people.

Salvation in Him is our refuge! REFUGE  is a prominent meaning of salvation in the Old Testament. God is a safe refuge for all who will seek Him.

No source of security is as sure as our good Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Remember God gives special blessings to those who follow Him. Even when a servant of the Lord suffers hardships in life – He provides abundant spiritual blessings.

Please read Psalm 34 today.

In Awe Of Him Daily!

Robin
